After the Maelstrom
"Sounds like another Friday night at Edgar Allan Poe's house."
And so it is, an indeterminate amount of time after the Murder Mystery Dinner Disaster. Edgar alternates between writing and pacing, Annabel reads a book, H.G. fiddles with his newest invention, and Lenore makes tea for everyone because of course the universe decided to put her in charge of a pair of authors who constantly forget that they need nutrition (well, only one of them really does anymore, but it's the principle of the thing), and while she's in the kitchen, she might as well make some for herself and Annabel, too. If anyone asked her, she'd say she wasn't singing, so nobody asks, because they don't want her to stop. The fireplace crackles, adding another layer of calm. There's something else, from under everyone's feet, but really only Edgar hears it. If the others do, they don't say anything.
