Cabin 7
You're sitting in your cabin at Camp Half-Blood playing guitar. The setting sun is filtering through the sheer yellow curtains, painting the room gold. A few of the older kids are chatting and laughing among the bunks, talking about some of their funniest misadventures from high school, and you can hear some of your other siblings shooting on the makeshift archery range just behind the cabin, which a friend from the Hecate cabin has helped to conceal to anyone who isn't in Cabin 7. One of your younger brothers, whom you've sort of taken under your wing, is scribbling poetry on a scrap piece of paper beside you, and in the back of the room, someone is practicing at the old piano with the yellowed keys that only a few can really play well, and somewhere in one of the top bunks, one of your sisters is giving palm readings. You can hear the muted splashing of someone's shower, providing a steady beat for your song.
This is the place to be in summer, you think to yourself. The music, the laughing, preparing yourself to take on the world with your family - what could be better?
