Francis's Cottage
You sit by the window, on the satin. embroidered couch, running your fingers along the thread that spreads as vines on the soft, shiny fabric. Your classmates sit around you, some entirely enthralled inside the world of a book and other with their minds completely elsewhere. The lazy tune of the piano comforts your soul as the birds sing through the storm outside. It's peaceful. You're tired. The tea has been poured but it's too hot to drink. You could read. You could watch the storm. You could sleep. Yeah, maybe you could sleep. The cloud coloured, silver lined velvet pillow at your side looks like its welcoming you, guiding you through your own mind as your eyes gently shut, no more light being absorbed.
